London Wedding Photographer
Tania & Rishi
24th August & 25th August 2018
I first met Tania and Rishi in 2016 when I photographed Upama & Aditya’s wedding at Three Rivers Golf Club where Tania and Rishi were guests.
Fast forward two years later and here I am photographing Tania and Rishi’s wedding. Thank you Upama and Aditya for the recommendation.
This was going to be a big colourful event over the course of two days.
Day One – 24th August 2018 – Sindhi Community House & Sexy Fish Bar
Day one started at the Sindhi Community House in London where Tania and Rishi had a traditional Indian Wedding Ceremony. As a London Wedding Photographer it was a privilege to be entrusted to capture such an occasion. I knew roughly what to expect having photographed Upama & Aditya’s wedding two years earlier.
The ornate ceremony room was beautifully decorated and everyone looked amazing in their traditional colourful attire.
Unlike Western Weddings a traditional Indian Wedding is a very colourful event. Just about every colour of the rainbow is acceptable.
After the ceremony everyone headed downstairs to for a bite to eat before making their way into central London to the Sexy Fish where Tania and Rishi were having their reception drinks.
The Sexy Fish bar and restaurant is located in Berkeley Square in the hear of London’s Mayfair.
Before their arrival Tania and Rishi had retired back to their hotel to get changed into their evening attire. They arrived in style and we managed to capture a few creative shots as they headed downstairs to the function room.
Inside everyone was waiting and as the entered the room erupted with cheers for the newly weds.
The remainder of the evening was awash with merriment. There were speeches, cake cutting and lots and lots of dancing.
Day Two – 25th August 2018 – Asia House & The Ivy
Day two of Tania and Rishi’s Wedding was the legal side of the proceedings.
The day begun at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel where Tania was getting ready. From the outside, and inside, it reminded me of Hogwarts with its giant arched main entrance, ornate towers and grand staircases. It is a building steeped with history.
Tania was in a luxurious suite where she was having her hair and makeup done. It was a photographers paradise with full length bay windows, high ceilings and plenty of room to move around in. We also took the time for a couple of photographs on one of the grand staircases as we were leaving too.
From the hotel it was off to Asia House where Tania and Rishi were having the legal ceremony. Tania was wearing a traditional wedding dress and Rishi looked smart is his suit and tie.
It wasn’t long before the formalities were over and Tania and Rishi were presented with their Wedding Certificate.
From Asia House it was a short trip back into central London for their evening reception at The Ivy.
When they arrived their guests were already waiting. We grabbed them for a few shots outside the Iconic venue before heading inside.
The evening had pretty much the same theme as the night before. Celebrating, speeches, more celebrating, dancing and a bit more celebrating. These guys knew how to celebrate in style.
When the night drew to a close though Tania and Rishi weren’t going to let that stop them for continuing their celebrations as they all headed back to the St Pancras hotel for an after party.
Their London Wedding Photographer did get an invite too but unfortunately we weren’t able to attend. We had another wedding the following day!
It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Tania and Rishi’s wedding. They are an amazing couple and I wish them all the very best for the future.
Check out some of their pictures below. There was so many to choose from when it came to writing this post that I didn’t know what to include and what to leave out. I have so many favourites but these are the least that I could narrow them down to.
